Valley nice to visit, hard to win there

Not even Angelo State enjoys the trip to Kingsville to play football, and ASU is the closest Lone Star Conference member in proximity to the Rio Grande Valley. And now the Javelinas, once the daddy of the LSC, are good again. The Javelinas have won three straight after losing at North Dakota, which still hasn't lost a game. Kingsville, which scored only a field goal vs. West Texas A&M last season, now has a quarterback in Billy Garza. Last year, it was David Garza at the helm. Billy's better, throwing for almost 1,000 yards and eight touchdowns. His efficiency rating is 140.3. Expect more offense and better defense from Kingsville vs. the Buffs, who lost 69-21 in 2004 in Kingsville before winning 51-31 in 2006 at Kingsville. WT has won twice in the Valley; the teams tied 0-0 there in 1939.
