3-4A Playoff picture

With just two games left in District 3-4A, the playoff picture is starting to take shape… sort of. Randall and Dumas have all but staked a claim for one of the four playoff spots with 3-0 district records. Palo Duro, Canyon and Caprock are tied at 1-2 for the remaining two spots. Pampa, at 0-3, could play the spoiler for one of those teams as they face Caprock on Friday and Palo Duro to finish the season. The Longhorns quarterback woes couldn’t have cropped up at a worse time, but backup Gerardo Ruiz showed promise against Randall in the second half, and if called upon, he appears capable of leading the ‘Rock to a win against Pampa. Palo Duro has a realistic shot at the playoffs, which didn’t seem possible just a week or two ago but Dumas will be tough to beat at home. And don’t count out Canyon just yet, they’ve faltered a bit in district play but they’ve got the talent to upset Randall and give the Raiders their first district loss in two years.
