Canadian, Muleshoe area's best according to Harris Poll

This week's Harris Ratings finds Canadian ranked No. 1 in Class 1A and Muleshoe No. 2 in Class 2A. The highest ranked team next to them is Stratford, which is No. 5 in 1A. Canadian and Stratford meet on Oct. 17 at Canadian in a terrific looking matchup that could decide the District 1-1A title. With three teams making the playoffs, might they meet again? The answer is NO, because they will be in different divisions. Canadian will be the Division I (large school) representative while Stratford will be in Division II. Besides Muleshoe, the next highest-ranked team in 2A in the Harris poll is Bushland which is No. 20. Now there is a potential playoff matchup. Muleshoe will be the Division I representative from District 2-2A. The only way Bushland won't be the Division I rep from 1-2A is if River Road makes the playoffs. But if the Wildcats don't then the bidistrict matchup will be Muleshoe vs. Bushland, and both could be 10-0 at that point.
