Canadian vs. Stratford grabs local spotlight

There are a lot of meaningful high school games this weekend and it's impossible to overlook them. But, hey, Stratford at Canadian is about as good as it gets. It features No. 1 Canadian against No. 8 Stratford (according to the AP poll) or No. 1 vs. No. 4 (Harris Ratings). The winner likely will go on to win the District 1-1A title, but the loser could be playing in mid to late December too. It's a classic matchup of the modern spread offense of Canadian against the old-style, hard-nosed running game coupled with tough defense of Stratford. And it will be played on Field Turf at Wildcat Stadium. Ask me to pick a winner and I'd probably say Canadian because of its style of play. But with how most of the games I've covered this season anything is possible. I'll be somewhat surprised if one of the teams doesn't have a handful of turnovers and the game gets out of hand. I hope not, but I won't be surprised. Who will make the mistakes? If I knew that I could go to Las Vegas and make a lot of money. Here's hoping for a close, down-to-the-wire game.
