District 3-1A headed for wild finish

It seems like every season one of the Class 1A districts in the Panhandle comes down to a wild finish to determine the three playoff berths and 3-1A is it this year. Nazareth is the class of the district but behind the Swifts are Boys Ranch, Vega, Bovina and White Deer in the mix. Everything could be solved Friday if Boys Ranch beats White Deer and Vega beats Bovina. If that happens the Roughriders will make the playoffs for the first time in history and the Longhorns will be in for the first time since 1989. However, wins by White Deer and Bovina would throw the thing into a four-way tie between those teams with one game remaining on Nov. 7. Last season District 3-1A was involved in a similar scenario. The difference being that 3-1A last year featured Quanah, Clarendon, Memphis, Shamrock, Wellington and Wheeler. Maybe it's just 3-1A no matter who the teams are.
