LSC goes 1-2 in region, as it should

It's evident that no one knows for sure if West Texas A&M or Abilene Christian is the best team. ACU has been ranked above WT, not by much, all season in the American Football Coaches Association poll. Both are in the top 5 now, suggesting both are pretty good. In this week's NCAA Super Region poll, WT is ranked first and ACU second. The Buffs battled all 2007 trying to move into the top two and never did. That meant a playoff game on the road. For all WT's success the past three seasons, the Buffs are 0-2 on the road in November. ACU may think it should be No. 1 in the region. Coaches at both schools likely are using polls and rankings to their advantage in preparing the Buffs and Wildcats for their showdown next week. Until one team wins in a blowout, and it's hard to imagine that scenario, both should stay 1-2 in the region. Regardless of how much Northwest Missouri will complain.
