Zero week?

For all the hoopla surrounding high school football in the great state of Texas it sure starts out with an unusual name - Zero Week.
I know. Crazy.
But really, a closer look and we find Zero Week was really a bright idea when implemented several years ago.
Although it's ridiculous to say a team can own a 2-0 record after Week One of the season, Zero Week is a perfect gift to high school athletes and coaches.
Basically, what Zero Week means is teams have the option to play 10 games over an 11-week period.
This way caoches can place a bye week into their season. That's why when you look at the schedule on Oct. 2 this year very few teams will be in action.
Zero Week is a crazy name.
But it works.
