Elks continue winning with defense

The spread offenses that many college teams run, and seen so much now in high school, are fine but I'm just old enough to still appreciate teams that win the old fashioned way. They line up and run the ball effectively, throw enough to move the chains and play great defense.
That, in a nutshell, is what Stratford does.
In the Elks first two games this season they have rushed for 518 yards, thrown for 213 and are averaging 365.
But on defense they have allowed 112 rushing yards, 164 passing and just 276 overall for 138 per game.
And, their games don't take all night to play. They get it over in a hurry, and we as sportswriters can appreciate that.
