Ouch! District 3-4A

While I always enjoy the competitive nature and wacky world of the District 3-4A race, the six teams' start to the season isn't exactly bright.

The six teams are a combined 1-10 after two weeks:
Canyon 1-1
Caprock 0-1
Palo Duro 0-2
Pampa 0-2
Dumas 0-2
Randall 0-2

The lone win by Canyon was over Andrews on the road. So the entire district is still looking for that first home win.

My prediction? The winner of the Palo Duro at Canyon game on Oct. 23 will be the district champ.

This is traditionally a much more competative district. What is going on?

It seems to me that District 3 is having a bad year not due to the new coaching changes but due to the overall talent level in the district. Most of the players that are playing seem to be mediocre Varsity players compared to Great JV players. Perhaps some will blossom but not this year. Down year for District 3

Everything moves in cycles. Usually good programs can overcome that, but sometimes you just don't have the personnel I suppose.
