Stratford, Bushland looking good as season enters second half

After five weeks of play, Stratford and Bushland continue to look best among the small schools as the 2009 season heads into its second half.
The Elks' only loss has been to Bushland which is unbeaten and looking very good in Class 2A.
Canadian, which has won back-to-back state titles doesn't appear to be as good as it was, but hey, you can't lose more than 20 seniors off those teams and expect to be quite as good. However, the Wildcats could still make a deep playoff run when it's all said and done. Wellington looks good, but the Skyrockets probably will have to get past Canadian in order to do some real damage in the playoffs.
How about Muleshoe? The Mules continue to roll along as they have run their win streak to 20 and look as though they could make another long run when the playoffs begin in November.
All in all, the rest of the season looks quite interesting and I'm ready for it.
