The moon landing between Lamesa and Midland?

I'm not sure anybody from the East Coast could believe making the drive from Amarillo to Odessa like I did today for the Amarillo High-Odessa High football game at legendary Ratliff Stadium.

I'm talking about the open space around you as you drive.

My route went through Plainview, Lubbock, Lamesa, cut off before Patricia, turn left at Andrews and onto in Odessa.

If the moon landing in 1969 was a fake (which I don't believe) NASA conducted it between Lamesa and Patricia. The terrain is that moon-like.

Anyway, my five-hour trip became a counting of buses. I saw buses from Angelo State (playing West Texas A&M on Saturday), San Angelo Lake View, Monahans and Lubbock Monterey.

I loved it.

Only in Texas could this have happened.
