Surprise At Bivins

So far at Dick Bivins Stadium, a mild upset is brewing, as Midland Lee leads Amarillo High 14-10 at halftime.

The story of the game so far has been Lee quarterback Jace Edwards, the same quarterback who tormented Tascosa at Bivins earlier in the season. Edwards did most of his damage to the Sandies (the top-ranked defense in District 2-5A) by rushing for 135 yards and both touchdowns. The Lee quarterback has outgained Amarillo High all by himself, as the Sandies netted only 82 yards of offense in the first half.

Can the Sandies find an answer for Edwards? We'll see just how well that vaunted defense adjusts.
