If this week's Harris Ratings are correct, Bushland will reach the Class 2A Division II state championship game and Canadian will capture its third consecutive state title.
The Falcons are 21-point favorites to get past Callisburg. But, hey, they were a 30-point favorite last week against Crane and won only by a 35-28 margin.
Canadian is a 7-point pick to beat Goldthwaite for the 1A Division I title this week and join Amarillo High (1934-36) as the only Panhandle-area football team to win three straight state titles.
Stratford, which will be playing in its 43rd playoff game this decade, is a 3-point underdog vs. Albany. The Elks beat Albany in last year's state semifinals, but that was then and this is now.
All three games promise to be exciting and it's a shame I can't cover all of them. I will do the Stratford-Albany game Friday at Frenship and the Bushland-Callisburg game Saturday at Wichita Falls.
