10 Days and Counting

Believe it or not, the countdown to the start of high school football season has begun, and in some cases it's actually down to single digits.

While the season officially opens statewide on Thursday, Aug. 26 (two games are scheduled for Amarillo's Dick Bivins Stadium that night), it's still 10 days to the first official Friday night of the season, and anybody who follows high school football knows that's when the action really happens. In the meantime, there are scrimmages between now and then to measure just how much progress your favorite teams have made since the start of two-a-days.

But the best news of all is that by the end of next week, the real thing will be here.
